Sketchup for ipad8/15/2023 ![]() ![]() I enjoy the mobile aspect because I can take my design work anywhere. What benefits have you gained from using SketchUp for iPad in your workflow? I’m also excited about being able to easily import 3D Warehouse models into my iPad designs, which has helped speed up my workflow. For example, I can import an image clip or floor plan and extrude objects, or focus on one area and detail it out. And, since there’s a seamless integration between desktop and iPad, I can work across both on the same project.Īnother SketchUp for iPad use case is carrying out detailed studies of aspects of a particular design. This helps me and the team understand the building’s scale and the surrounding context. My workflow typically starts by importing a geo-referenced location to get the scale correct, and from there, I create massing models. To unleash your creativity at the start of a concept, you need tools that are easy to use – tools similar to sketching on a physical piece of paper, and SketchUp for iPad is precisely this. I use SketchUp for iPad during the initial conceptual design phase. We’ve been exploring and experimenting with SketchUp for iPad in our workflow, and the possibilities are endless. How do you use SketchUp for iPad in your workflow? So everyone works together throughout the entire design process.” Something unique about Perkins Eastman is that we work within design groups. “ SketchUp helps me communicate my initial design ideas to other team members and clients. Omar handles front-end conceptual design work and prefers to work exclusively in SketchUp. Perkins Eastman is a global architecture, interior design, urban design, planning, landscape architecture, graphic design, and project management firm. Let’s dive deeper into a specific case from beta user Omar Calderon Santiago, Design Principal at Perkins Eastman. It’s great to have that flexibility.” – George Decherney, expert woodworker I can quickly capture my woodworking projects while sitting on the couch with my wife. With iPad, I can take my work wherever I go. I build everything from furniture pieces to intricate bookcases. All of the menus are dropdowns, so it saves a ton of space.” – Luke Whitelock, art director for top feature films, a software engineer by trade, but I use SketchUp specifically for my woodworking projects. Plus, I don’t lose any modeling space with the way the UI has been developed. It’s saved me a lot of design time – about half a day’s work. Now, I can do it right there with the Director on my iPad. Before SketchUp for iPad, I would hand sketch on sets and jot down dimensions on a piece of paper. Now, I use SketchUp on my iPad and take my work wherever I go – the train, on set, etc. “I use SketchUp every day in the film industry. I enjoy SketchUp for iPad because it’s like a digital piece of paper it’s so much more flexible than bringing your laptop out in the field.” – Guy Wydouw an Architect and SketchUp extension developer from architectuurburo wydouw bvba They love seeing the model on an iPad versus paper because it’s more detailed. It helps me communicate more efficiently with our general contractors. Sections and take more precise measurements using Apple Pencil. SketchUp for iPad has many more viewing capabilities that I need when going to a job site. We even take our models out in the field to help the contractors during the build phase. “We use SketchUp to design all of our architecture projects. It’s very fluid and fast.” – João Queiroz e Lima, an Architect from Casca Typically, contractors have SketchUp on a laptop, and I have to sit down with them and help them understand how things are supposed to be built. Lastly, it has been valuable to use SketchUp for iPad on construction sites. This is useful in meetings with clients, contractors, collaborators, and consultants. I also use Markup mode with Apple Pencil to sketch directly on top of 3D models. During design development, it’s useful because I can go back and forth between iPad and desktop. It helps me get ideas out digitally instead of sketching on paper during the conceptual design phase. “I have been using SketchUp for iPad a few different ways. Here’s what some of the beta users had to say: We’re going to pause here and let you read for yourself a sampling of the inbound we’ve received from the SketchUp-verse. Other notable callouts include easily reviewing and marking up designs from team members, studying the details of a design, and cutting down the back-and-forth time it takes to go from RFI to an on-site solution. Our lucky betas fancy everything from exploring designs on a job site to being able to jot down early-stage concepts quickly. We knew sketching on an iPad would be a game-changer for various workflows, so we were eager to get the inside scoop from several of our SketchUp for iPad beta users. ![]()

Console rust shop8/15/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() This is a massive challenge in a constantly changing game like Rust Console Edition. During this time we’ve made sure to have plenty of stability patches to ensure the game is as bug free and as smooth as possible. On top of all the content updates, we also released seasonal content, such as Halloween and Christmas events (more about Christmas later). Following this came the Deadly Catch update that brought the Fishing Villages and a new water vehicle, the kayak! Finally our most recent update, Oceanbound, added the L96 rifle and two Cargo Ship variants to the game. We started the year off with Offshore Blowout that brought the Oil Rigs, a new NPC threat in the form of the Heavy Scientists and the grenade launcher. “We understand the urge for players to be among the first to join the freshly wiped servers so we want to have a predictable and easy to follow pattern for all of you. This year has been a very exciting year for both the development team and for the community, with a lot of highly requested content making its way to Rust Console Edition. If you’re wondering why the Rust Console Edition wipes have a definitive time each month, here’s what the developers have told fans when explaining the decision: These wipes all start at the same time, at 11am PST/2pm EST/7pm BST. The Rust Console Edition wipes take place once a month, on the last Thursday of every month. Generally speaking the developers will only announce their intention to wipe blueprints a few days before doing so. Sometimes you might see players asking when the next “BP” wipe is set to take place, because they’re asking when Blueprints will be reset. If this is the case we will let you know beforehand.” “we will avoid wiping them as much as possible but in some cases it might be needed to maintain the stability of the game. These are special, and in the developer’s own words: Rust just happens to do this once a month to keep things really fresh.Īs we’ve explained, the monthly forced server wipes will delete pretty much everything, but not the blueprints. For instance, DayZ also undergoes a server wipe every so often. We see this with most games within the survival genre. The devs do this to make sure that all new players have a chance to enjoy the game without being completely dominated by seasoned players. But for the most part, Rust Wipes reset everything for players. Some things, such as blueprints won’t be deleted, allowing players to retain some of their progress each month. This includes a character’s loot, weapons, as well as their buildings. The Rust Console Edition developers will completely wipe servers once a month, which involves deleting everything a player has created for that particular month. Rust Wipes Explained: What is a Rust Wipe? Update - The next Rust Console Edition wipe will take place later today, 29 September 2022. Read on and we’ll explain everything you need to know about how the Rust Console Edition Wipes work, as well as giving you a schedule so you know when the next Rust Console Edition wipe takes place. It’s why you’ll occasionally find players asking the question ‘when is the next Rust wipe’ or “Wen Wipe?” for short. This has been a staple part of the game for some time, and it’s been replicated in the Rust Console Edition of the game. ![]() If you’re completely new to Rust, then one of the first things you need to get to grips with is the enforced server wipes which frequently occur in-game. ![]() Digitize my logo8/15/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() The key factors that determine the cost of an embroidered logo are: You can get your logo digitized on almost every fabric. Minoan double axes have also recently been found in the prehistoric town of Akrotiri ( Santorini Island) along with other objects of apparent religious significance. (p 161) Small versions were used as votive offerings and have been found in considerable numbers the Arkalochori Axe is a famous example. It seems that it was the symbol of the arche of the creation (Mater-arche). In Crete the double axe only accompanies goddesses, never gods. ![]() In ancient Crete, the double axe was an important sacred symbol of the Minoan religion. Minoan double axe ĭrawing of a golden ring found at Mycenae depicting cult of the seated poppy goddess, in which the labrys is central and prominent "on Carian coins, indeed of quite late date, the labrys, set up on its long pillar-like handle, with two dependent fillets, has much the appearance of a cult image". "It seems natural to interpret names of Carian sanctuaries such as Labranda in the most literal sense as the place of the sacred labrys, which was the Lydian (or Carian) name for the Greek πέλεκυς, or double-edged axe" (p 161) In Labraunda in Caria, as well as in the coinage of the Hecatomnid rulers of Caria, the double axe accompanies the storm god Zeus Labraundos. Ī link has also been posited with the double axe symbols at Çatalhöyük, dating to the Neolithic age. According to some modern scholars it could read * δαφυρίνθοιο (* daphyrinthoio), or something similar, and hence be without a certain link with either the λάβρυς or the labyrinth. The conventional reading is λαβυρίνθοιο πότνια ( labyrinthoio potnia 'mistress of the labyrinth'). The Egyptian labyrinth near Lake Moeris is described by Herodotus and Strabo. It is also possible that the word labyrinth is derived from the Egyptian, meaning: "the temple at the entrance of the lake”. Beekes regards the relation of labyrinth with labrys as speculative, and rather proposes a relation with laura ( λαύρα), 'narrow street', or to the Carian theonym Dabraundos ( Δαβραυνδος). In Crete the "double axe" is not a weapon, and it always accompanies female goddesses, not male gods. Her name was said to be derived from the region around Delphi. ![]() In Roman times at Patrai and Messene, a goddess Laphria was worshipped, commonly identified with Artemis. Lamenting the vice of anti-Americanism that grips so many European intellectuals, Bruckner urges a renewed transatlantic alliance, and advises Americans not to let recent foreign-policy misadventures sap their own confidence. In this, Europeans should learn from Americans, who still have sufficient self-esteem to act decisively in a world of chaos and violence. The West should be proud-and ready to defend itself and its values. The West has no monopoly on evil, and has destroyed monsters as well as created them-leading in the abolition of slavery, renouncing colonialism, building peaceful and prosperous communities, and establishing rules and institutions that are models for the world.
